SoNoRo FESTIVAL

Founded in Bucharest in 2006 by violist Razvan Popovici, in only six years the SoNoRo Festival has developed into one of the most exciting and innovative music festivals in Eastern Europe.

The SoNoRo Festival takes place every autumn in Bucharest and since 2011 has been taking place yearly in Arezzo, Italy.

The SoNoRo Festival has been going regularly on tour in some of the most prestigious concert halls worldwide such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Gasteig in Munich and YMCA in Jerusalem as well as in Kiev, Istanbul, Athens, Munich and Riga.

The SoNoRo Festival regularly collaborates with festivals around the world such as Kobe Music Festival (Japan), Riga Chamber Music Festival (Latvia), Chiemgauer Musikfrühling and Kulturwald (Germany), Music at Plush (UK), Sounding Jerusalem (Israel), Tartini Festival (Slovenia) and Cantiere di Montepulciano and Spoleto Festival (Italy).

Ensemble Raro, one of the most creative and versatile European chamber music groups, is the ensemble in residence of the SoNoRo Festival. Diana Ketler, Erik Schumann, Razvan Popovici and Alexander Sitkovetsky are some of the members of the Ensemble Raro.

Previously, the Festival released three highly acclaimed CD's - Songs and Dances of Life, The Seasons, Love Songs and Chamber Music by Dohnányi, Dvorák and Suk as well as the photography albums SoNoRo-Imagining Music and SoNoRo Conac.

After the great debut in 2013 in the Bulgaria Hall, the SoNoRo Festival will return to Sofia, reincluding the Bulgarian capitol city in the carefully chosen SoNoRo schedule.
